Meditate won the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Keeneland to confirm their classic potential for next year.
Sitting at the back of the pack under Ryan Moore, the Aidan O’Brien-trained two-year-old was patiently mounted from a relatively wide draw in stall 10.
After the final turn, Moore called on the filly to upshift and she responded eagerly, moving past the leaders for an easy win.
Meditate’s victory saw their price tag for next year’s 1,000 Guineas deal, with Betfair dropping 8/1 to 16s, while they are 7/1 with Coral.
The victory was O’Brien’s first in the race at the 16th time claimed.
He said: “Ryan gave her a brilliant ride and Michael (Tabor, owner) was very confident this was the ride for her.
“I’m so thrilled for the guys. We came here to see if she was a filly for the Guineas and the result was great.”
Moore, who is celebrating her 10th Breeders’ Cup victory but her first since 2017, said: “This filly did it very easily, she has a lot of talent. With each run, she got better.
“She picked up very well and was just a level above them.”
