Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry said Ukraine would continue to take steps to prevent Russia from using Iranian weapons to kill Ukrainians, and warned Tehran that the consequences of complicity in Russian aggression would be greater the benefits that Iran would derive from supporting Russia.
Source: Reported by European Pravdareferring to the message of Oleh Nikolenko, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on his Facebook page.
The head of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s foreign ministry has publicly admitted that Tehran supplied Russia with drones, saying they were sent to Russia months before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Quotation: “Previously, Iran had denied supplying weapons to Russia, which the Russians use in the war, in any way possible,” Nikolenko noted.
Details: In addition, he noted that the Iranian Foreign Minister spread insinuations about the Ukrainians’ alleged refusal to meet with Iranian experts due to pressure from Western partners.
“Ukraine has learned to trust only facts. Therefore, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, headed by Dmytro Kuleba, in close coordination with relevant Ukrainian agencies, will continue to take the strongest measures to prevent the Russia to use Iranian weapons to kill Ukrainians and destroy our critical infrastructure.
Tehran should realize that the consequences of complicity in the crimes of the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine will be far greater than the benefits of its support for Russia.”
Background: Russia has recently used massive suicide drones to attack Ukraine, namely Iranian-made Shahed-136 drones. Russian forces use them under the title “Geran”. Tehran has repeatedly denied supplying drones to Russia. The White House considers Iran’s denials to be false.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine declared that Iran’s supply of weapons to Russia to wage a full-scale war makes it an accomplice in aggression and war crimes against Ukraine. The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Dmytro Kuleba, submitted to the President of Ukraine a proposal to sever diplomatic relations with Iran over Russia’s use of Iranian drones against Ukraine.
